A historical lens, not an exact snapshot. The slider includes texts by their associated historical milestone. It does not establish when each work was composed, available in a particular region, or accepted by every school. Oral transmission, translations and later editions overlap.
Why a network beneath the folders?
A single text can be preserved in several languages and studied by several schools. A dated manuscript is evidence of that copy, not a timestamp for the entire teaching.
For example, the British Library’s Diamond Sūtra scroll dates to 868 CE; the work is older. Tibetan canonical collections distinguish scriptures from treatises, while still connecting both through interpretation.
