One directory, different ways to practice
This selected directory brings together local sanghas, temples, residential retreat venues and monasteries. Community coverage is strongest in California; retreat venues extend worldwide. A place can offer more than one kind of practice. “Residential retreats” means a structured retreat at that venue; a “Monastic stay” follows a monastery’s routine and may include work and communal duties. A community’s off-site retreat does not make its regular meeting space a residential retreat venue. Images come from the named community or a credited archive. Logos and archival photographs are labeled; images do not establish current access. “Ask community” and “Not listed” mean the feature has not been documented here, not that it is unavailable. It is not an exhaustive directory or a certification of a teacher or community. Tradition labels follow each community’s description.

Regular community meeting times below are Pacific time unless stated otherwise; follow the official calendar for cancellations, special dates and joining requirements. Dated events disappear after their start time. First-visit details and each listing’s check date stay visible.
